About us
Senca is the result of the Fortunat family. As a family, we’re known for having a lot of energy. The only reason we can think of is that it comes from here — a small piece of paradise shaped by the water, hills and meadows of the Soča Valley.
Our father is from Modrejce — the same village where Senca is. Our mother is from Modrej, on the other side of the lake. So yes, you could say that the three of us — Domen, Adam and Vid — grew up right in the middle of the lake (just a little joke). This place — our home — is what gives us that energy. And because we like to share things, we decided to open this piece of land to others.
It started with a small wooden barn for birthday gatherings. Then came a quiet campsite, focused on peace and nature. And over time, it became a small but lively place with diverse food and great concerts.
So you can come, slow down, recharge, and take a small part of the energy that has been flowing through this place for generations.
Hinko
I’m a carpenter by profession and the person behind most of what you can touch and see at Senca. Almost everything here was built by hand, in my small workshop in the village. I rarely run out of energy — and if you need me, I’m usually around, for a morning chat or a spontaneous idea that turns into a good day.
Bojana
I’m a dentist. I’m in charge of the blooming garden surrounding our house and keep the campsite neat and tidy.
Domen and Maja
We run the program and take care of the overall flow at Senca. In practice, we’re involved in almost everything that happens here.
We genuinely enjoy being around people. Working in Senca feels a bit like travelling — you stay in one place, while the people keep changing. Spending five months here never feels long. Every weekend brings different food, new faces and a lot of music.
After the season, we usually move on for a while — to explore other places, different music scenes, food and people. And then we bring those ideas back with us.
Adam
I’m Hinko’s right-hand man for technical jobs, but also a passionate fisherman and a fishing guide. I know the most attractive hidden spots for fly-fishing along the Soča and other nearby-rivers. Guided adventures along our smaller and less known rivers are simply too good to miss. They’re every fisherman’s dream, especially if/when they are blessed by catching a marble trout.
Vid
I’m the youngest in the family, but big and mature enough to help with practically everything. Most of all, I help us out of any communication difficulties with my knowledge of English.
